Summary on Grant Application Form
The purpose of this visiting Fellowship is to enable the University of Leeds LANTERN Research team consortium to benefit from expertise of Dr Joe Beebe, Associate Professor of Colorado State University (CSU) to assist the commissioning and evaluation of the instrumentation and facilities that measure vehicle emissions. This grant seeks to fund the travel and subsistence for three visits of one month duration in 2002. No salary contribution is necessary. The equipment being acquired that would benefit greatly from Dr Beebe's expertise includes:- Dynamic engine dynamometer;- Fast response CO, C02, NO, N02, speciated HydroCarbons (HCs) and Particulate analysers;- In-vehicle mass based emission monitoring assessment (CO, C02, NOx and speciated HC's); - Real-time fuel consumption meters;- Instrumented car for driver behaviour studies and of particular importance, complimenting Dr Beebe's expertise and skills, is to integrate the vehicle exhaust emissions and dynamic dynamometer facility
