This mission seeks to take leading researchers in the area of ubiquitous and pervasive computing to Japan to meet with other leading researchers in this new and exciting area. The field of ubiquitous and pervasive computing promises to be one which will significantly influence new products and services in the future 'unwired world' and it is important that UK researchers have up to date information on activities in nations such as Japan, which has taken a significant lead in this area. The mission will also serve as a means to start new collaborations for mutual benefit to the UK and Japan. The results of the mission will be disseminated reciprocally to both countries.
