Panel History:
Summary on Grant Application Form
The research project at Swansea will focus on an understanding of the creep/fatigue behaviour of the next generation single crystal alloys and will encompass:Manufacture of appropriate specimens including coated variants.Undertake creep tests over the full stress/temperature range anticipated for the blade geometry.Explore low cycle fatigue response on plain, notched and coated testpieces.Model the creep and fatigue behaviour to support the design of new components.
