Summary on Grant Application Form
The Ziegler and Zariski spectra of categories of modules have found a variety of applications, especially in the context of categories of representations of finite-dimensional algebras. The theory associated to these spaces applies in any locally finitely presented Grothendieck abelian category. A main aim of the project is to extend this theory to compactly generated triangulatedcategories. Triangulated categories arose in algebraic topology, but, especially recently, they are finding increasing and widening applications in algebra. Some initial steps have been taken to develop the theory around Ziegler spectra in the context of triangulated categories but the major part of the theory is undeveloped.
