The aim of this proposal is to promote engineering to three groups using one captivating hardware system.These groups will bei) girls attending the EMTA sponsored INSIGHT promote.ii) School children aged 10-15 attending a 2nd robotics and automation exhibition andiii) a general audience viewing technology and art displays at The Lowry/Digital World Centre.The proposed display will be a mobile, dynamics and interactive robotic primate with legs, arms, hands etc. The primate will be highly visual and demonstrate and permit some hands-on experimentation of new EPSRC sponsored technologies in areas such as Robotics, Bio-mimetics, and SMART materials.
