This project comprises an investigation of the self-assessment process used by organisations and the development of a knowledge-based decision model based on the EFQM model. Its purpose is to provide a greater understanding of the critical issues involved with self-assessment and generate a well structured knowledge base that can be used to improve business competitiveness. Amongst the project deliverables will be a methodology for identifying the most suitable approach for self-assessment, a knowledge-based decision model for measuring and assessing business performance of both a quantitative and qualitative nature, an integrative framework for linking self-assessment to the business planning process, along with a monitoring mechanics; and specifications for a computerised decision tool to materialise the methodologies and frameworks.EngProg\
