|
The cohomology and representation thory of profinite groups has not been advanced to to the same extent as that of finite or of infinite discrete groups. There is every reason to believe that it has a rich structure, combining the characteristic features of both, and having important applications in number theory and algebraic topology. This project will develop that theory.
