Summary on Grant Application Form
A small group of British biomaterials scientists with a particular interest in ceramics and bioactive materials has been invited to Chinese Universities with a similar research background and field of interest with a view to developing stronger links, scientific collaboration and the establishment of a visiting PhD programme. Application is made for the return economy air fare to China for three people. All expenses in China will be met by our hosts. All other incidental expenses will be met by our own institutions.Specifically both British and Chinese researchers are studying apatites, bone scaffolds for tissue engineering, bioactive coatings for implants and hard ceramics for bearing surfaces. The profile of laboratories in terms of equipment, techniques and expertise is closely similar.
