Summary on Grant Application Form
By the purchase of a modern Raman microscopy, 50-100 times more sensitive than our existing one, we intend to expand our research into many critically important areas of pigment research, particularly to do with chemical and photochemical degradation of pigments and pigment identification under adverse conditions (varnish etc.). We also intend to exploit the sensitivity of the technique in the identification of oxide, sulfide, selenide and sulfide/selenide species formed by atmospheric pressure chemical vapour deposition (APCVD) onto glass substrates.
