Summary on Grant Application Form
Abstract of proposed research (not exceeding 100 words) The investigation will involve a speculative idea whereby ozone can be generated directly in the body of the water to be treated. This will be achieved by first aerating the water with oxygen or air in the form of a suspension of fine bubbles and then applying a repetitive short duration pulse of electric field. In this way electrical discharges will take place within the bubbles so generating ozone which will then dissolve in the water and eradicate any resident pathogens.
