Summary on Grant Application Form
Complete and exploit the EXOGAM array and the VAMOS spectrometer at the SPIRAL facility at GANIL. These devices will be used with radioactive beams to study the structure of nuclei far from the line of stability. Both proton-rich and neutron-rich nuclei will be investigated using appropriate production mechanisms and gamma-ray spectroscopy. In order to fulfil a world-leading programme of research, some complementary experiments will be carried out at other radioactive beam facilities. Contributions will be made to the construction and commissioning of the EXOGAM array; a Bragg spectrometer will be designed and installed; and a tape transport system will be modified for use at SPIRAL.
