There are four patented innovations in electrochemistry from UCL that this project aims to drive to industrial exploitation. The first is a way of mass producing repeatable, inexpensive electrode arrays which have a reproducibly clean surface, by snapping a printed structure. The second is a simple way of defining the mass-transport regime to the electrified array, by vibrating i. The third is the packaging of a complete electrochemical cell, including the necessary reagents printed onto the strip. Th fourth is the implementation, with these inexpensive and reliable devices, of procedures equivalent to industrial objective is to engineer small and inexpensive instruments incorporating these sensors; and, using these instruments and devices, to configure inexpensive automated methods for acid-base and redox titrations. As well as the industrial development, the proposal envisages innovation in the theory and practice of electro-analytical methods, in electrode fabrication and in electro-chemical instrument design.
