Summary on Grant Application Form
This proposal seeks resources to carry out modelling studies of defects and processes in diamond. In particular experimental studies underway at a number of laboratories, e.g. King's College, Oxford, Bristol and deBeers will be complemented by theoretical modelling studies at Exeter. Nitrogen, phosphorous, hydrogen, transition metal and interstitial related defects will be examined. Close links will be maintained with other theoretical groups such as those at Newcastle, Sussex, UCL, Oxford and King's.
