Summary on Grant Application Form
This is a foreign travel application to enable us to take our mass-selected nanoscale cluster source to the ESRF at Grenoble. This for the first time, a comprehensive MCD study of the size-dependent magnetic properties of Fe clusters can be determined. With the flux aavailable on beam line ID26, assemblies can be studied in the dilute limit and thus the fundamental properties of individual non-interacting particles on a substrate can be determined. The changes in this magnetic behaviour as the inter-particle interaction is increased can also be studied.
