Summary on Grant Application Form
The aim of this project is to develop multi modal sensors to study the dynamic character of multiphase flow processes. The arrays of various types of individual sensors such as capacitance, resistance, microwave and ultrasound will be embedded into a passive material for inclusion in process pipes, vessel walls or internals in separation systems. The measured signals will be processed to obtain the distribution of phases and/or tomographic images of the flow field. The dynamic behaviour of interfaces between various phases as well as description of separation processes will be monitored online and visualised.
