Summary on Grant Application Form
The project proposes to develop a rapid design environment with applicability to industrial radiative thermal heating plant and domestic gas burners. The environment will combine novel surface generation techniques employing the solution of sets of partial differential equations with fast, simple classical analysis. Facilities to store and regenerate design together with their parameters and an associated quality rating will allow rapid iteration towards improved designs. Although focused on two particular applications the ideas and techniques will be if general utility in other areas where a large number of design variants are required to be vetted at an early stage prior to commencing the full development cycle.
