Summary on Grant Application Form
A three year project is proposed in which tools to assist in the analysis and synthesis of application programs for parallel processors will be developed using a well-founded computing model. The model is based on parameterisation for architectures. Tools, application generators and application programs are designed in terms of parameters that represent key features of given architectures. This will provide portability with performance. A consistent user interface for the tool set will be developed. Guidelines for the design and cost modelling of applications will also be produced.
