Many unsolved problems relating to the existence and properties of de Bruijn structures remain, the solution of many of which will have considerable practical impact. For example, no binary de Bruijn sequences are known with a simple decoding algorithm (i.e. and algorithm to find the position in a sequence of any n0tuple). Finding such an algorithm for one of the de Bruijn sequences would be of great value in position location applications. Further, although the linear complexity of a binary de Bruijn sequence can be found very easily using the Berlekamp-Massey algorithm, to the Games-Chan algorithm, finding de Bruijn sequences for all possible linear complexities remains an unsolved problem, on with potential ramification for cryptography. Even less in known about the existence, number and properties of multi-dimensional de Bruijn arrays.In the proposed work for Dr. Etzion's visit, we will attempt to resolve some of these unanswered questions.
