Summary on Grant Application Form
Apply methods of algebraic number theory (in particular, the theory of finite fields). To the study of the dynamics of cellular automata, and apply dynamical methods to the study of finite fields. We intend to (i) develop an arithmetical classification of Pocal rules, (ii) study the arithmetical structure of Pineit cycles, (iii) determine which polynomials over a finite field originate from a cellular automation, (iv) initiate the study of discrete representations of couples map lattices. The strategic goal is to narrow the gap that exists between dynamics and discrete mathematics.
