Summary on Grant Application Form
The conjectures of Beilinson, Deligne, Birch-Swinnerton-Dyer and Bloch-Kato relate special values of L-functions with subtle arithmetic invariants of algebraic varieties over Q. These invariants are related to, amongst other things, the existence of certain non-trivial extensions of motives. We propose to investigate such extensions, the K-theoretic elements from which they arise, and their relation with L-values, in the context of mixed Shimure varieties.
