Summary on Grant Application Form
1) To study the electro-deposition of electrochromic polymer films bridging close-spaced (10mm) electrodes. 2) To compare the formation of different electropolymerised oxidoreductase enzyme entrapping films and determine the efficiency and mechanisms of enzyme mediated conductivity change during substrate degradation. 3) To deposit ultra thin Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) over prototype conductimetric electrode structures to modify solute transport and enhance haemocompatibility. 4) To interrogate active polymeric films using variable depth evanescent wave ATR-FTIR during use in simple aqueous solution as well as in blood to assess (i) solute entry into films and (ii) biofouling.
