Summary on Grant Application Form |
To understand how granularity in high temperature superconductors affects the critical current properties of these materials. To measure the intra- and intergranular Jc as a function of magnetic field and temperature by using both magnetic and transport measurements. To establish the functional form of Jc in terms of fundamental parameters and hence determine which mechanisms limit Jc. To measure Bc2(T) over the widest temperature range by using the highest magnetic fields available internationally.
