Summary on Grant Application Form |
This project will build on a wide experience of software used in non-English settings. The Principal Investigator, Professor Pat Hall, will spend his sabbatical leave in Nepal undertaking a small level of lecturing in Kathmandu University as a vehicle for participant observation of the approach to software by indigenous Nepali. Collaterally with this he will visit and follow a number of applications of computers, selecting projects as widely across the varied cultures represented in Nepal as possible.
