Summary on Grant Application Form
Our well-equipped and well-supported existing laboratory provision is integral to our research strategy, featuring particularly prominently across our EPSRC portfolio. It is a foundational aspect of our research ethos that we provide our researchers with the tools and environments they need to flourish. We intend to use this block grant to invest in five pieces of core equipment which will enhance these facilities and benefit academics across departments within a range of Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPS) disciplines, thus meeting the underpinning multi-user equipment objective for the award as a whole. In addition, one of the items is a replacement for an existing piece of kit, meeting the invest to save objective. Several of the submissions included within this application are led by Early Career Researchers, meeting the Core Equipment in support of Early Career Researchers objective, and two pieces of equipment also support the Core Equipment in support of critical mass doctoral training objective.

The five items of underpinning multi-user equipment to be purchased via this grant are:

- Maskless laser lithography system

- Advanced UV-vis-NIR Spectrophotometer

- Enhanced Structural Testing Rig

- 100kW Dynamometer System

- Chemisorption Analyser
