A multi contact, science outreach programme consisting of a number of activities. Contact 1 is a physical science session combining physical activities and science, utilising a variety of interactive equipment and tailored worksheets, delivered in the school. (30 students per session to incorporate the entire year 9 cohort at each school). Research students will be involved in the delivery and have the opportunity to discuss their research project with the school students.Contact 2 is a media rich, science of sport presentation, combining research and practise on modern materials, tools and the equipment which supports World Class Sporting Performance. Supported with many sporting and materials props, this presentation is accompanied by a curriculum enrichment and activity worksheet and is delivered in the school. (The show is performed either to the entire year group or to half a year group at a time).Contact 3 is a visit to Thinktank, (the Birmingham Millennium Point Science Centre) combining an interactive science of sport show and access to appropriate galleries within the centre. (Once again either the entire year group, or half a year group at a time, for this 2 hour visit).The programme is supplemented with a web site and newsletters and concludes with a presence at Birmingham's premier Science Festival, allowing wider access to pupils from across the city to the programme.
