Summary on Grant Application Form
Within the timelines of this five year fellowship we will investigate a number of areas of metal free asymmetric catalysis to deliver novel, cleaner and faster synthetic methodologies that have wide applicability and high functional group tolerance. Successful completion of the work presented will encompass new methods and benchmark catalysts for the formation of C-C, C-O, C-N and C-S bonds under metal free reaction conditions. We will then go on to exploit our novel methodology in the metal free total synthesis of natural products and molecules of biological significance to set the work presented in context.
