|
Axelrod ran an Iterated Prisoners Competition which has proven to be a landmark in game theory research. This proposal re-produce, and greatly extend Axelrod's competition by incorporating the latest research. The original work of Axelrod is widely cited and we woe expect this research to obtain an equally high profile within the academic community. In addition, we plan to disseminate to the general public in meet the wishes of EPSRC to promote its work to a wider audience. This proposal is greatly enhanced by the involvement of Robert Axelrod whc agreed to write a chapter for the book. In addition, he has also provisionally agreed to be a plenary speaker at the conference where the climax c competition will take place. This proposal has the opportunity to take the seminal work by Axelrod a significant step forward. We have brought toy set of conditions that make this a one off opportunity. In addition, the organisers of CEC'04 are also supporting this event.The team, and circumstances, we have put together, we believe, provides EPSRC with a unique opportunity to fund an exciting and high impact with a modest amount of money.
