Summary on Grant Application Form
This project will investigate some fundamental main group synthetic and structural chemistry of simple binary P-Se containing rings and cages. Routes to novel organo-P-Se rings will be developed and the structures of the new compounds established. The reactivity of P-Se rings will be studied both from the point of view of cycloaddition chemistry and C=O to C=Se conversion [and M-NO to M-NSe conversion] with a range of substrates.
