Summary on Grant Application Form
Start-up funds of 7.6k is requested in financial support for the new 4-day Plasma Technology Training School (PTTS), hosted and managed jointly by the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde. The funds requested would be used as pump-priming finance over the first few years during which the school will become established. The PTTS is aimed at research personnel entering the low-temperature, technological plasma subject area for the first time, as research students, or postdoctoral researchers switching fields, or industrial staff seeking training. The PTTS will address theory and experimental practice, and offer school delegates access to experienced practitioners covering a broad range of appropriate expertise. Knowledge will be imparted by specialist lectures, comprehensive printed lecture notes, and informal tutorials.
