Summary on Grant Application Form
Powder-based procesing and modelling is a major research theme of the Centre for Materials Research at QMUL. The three investigators spearhad this research supported by three research fellows, six research assistants and over 20 PhD students. The processing and modelling laboratories of the centre are equipped with state-of-the-art, unique combinations of equipment which allow advanced processing to be used to design and tailor the microstructure of new materials useful to a wide variety of industries. In this proposal we request funding to support the three research fellows over the next 3-4 years in order to carry out research at the leading edge of advanced intermetallics, ceramics, composites, energy storage materails, biomaterials and new freeform fabrication methods.
