Summary on Grant Application Form
X-Ray diffraction is an essential structural technique. Conventional laboratory facilities employ sealed tube generators with CCD area detectors. In this project we aim to implement a high brilliance microfocus system to provide the ability to study significantly smaller crystals and to conduct 'in situ' studies on important materials. The proposed facility will provide a 'state of the art' laboratory for St Andrews in support of a range of high quality projects.
