Summary on Grant Application Form
To stage a Molecular Mardi Gras at the Newcastle Carnival in 2004. To make molecules fun and interesting for the general public and to make molecular models an object of desire. To produce Mr Molecular a touch screen interactive aimed at children and the general public that tells about the molecules all around them and helps them choose a molecule of interest to make. To produce Molecules X-rated, a touch screen interactive, targeted at young adults (16-20) which contains molecules of relevance to youth culture and molecules with silly names that have an appeal. To give people the opportunity to make a model of the molecule of their choice and to have their picture taken with it. To translate the Mr Molecular, a touch screen interactive, into a website for teachers to use as a teaching resource in schools
