Summary on Grant Application Form
The theme of the 19th Machine Intelligence Workshop this year will be Reasoning and Uncertainty: methods and applications , and will be held at the Imperial College Conference centre at Wye from 18-20 September 2002. The theme combines two convergent areas of Artificial Intelligence research. That is, Uncertainty Reasoningon on the one hand, and Machine Learning on the other. The theme was chosen by the Machine Intelligence board as a natural outcome of discussions of discussions at Machine Intelligence 18 which identified the increasing need for explicit representation of uncertainty in machine learned models of biological processes. The workshop will bring together a number of the most respected figures in these related fields of Artificial Intelligence.
