Summary on Grant Application Form
The normally dispersive vector nonlinear Schroedinger equation is known to be integrable in the sense that the Lax pair required for linearisation is known. However, a full solution in terms of inverse scattering theory is still an open problem. Preliminary studies on this problem were carried out last year while the PI was on sabbatical leave in La Sapienza , and the current proposal is for funds for the PI and the VF to continue this work.
