Summary on Grant Application Form
This proposal seeks travel funds needed to strengthen and expand the preliminary links established by the applicant regarding the set-up of a EU Framework 6 INTEGRATED PROJECT aimed at basic investigations and device implementation of supramolecularly-engineered functional materials. We are interested in pursuing better molecular materials through the use of supramolecular architectures. We will focus on organic materials, because of the great flexibility in the design of new molecular systems afforded by organic chemistry and will target conjugated, electroactive (macro)molecular architectures for organic electronics and photonics (light-emitting diodes, LEDs, photovoltaic diodes, PVD, Field-Effect Transistors, FETs, lasers and sensors). For this we want to integrate expertise across a large spectrum of disciplines. Our team includes leading groups with expertise in the synthesis and characterisation of supramolecular nanostructures of organic, biological, or hybrid nature, and in the characterisation of their properties, as well as in the implementation of organic materials in optoelectronic devices and systems.
