The proposal relates to a three-day conference on the properties of soft tissues and fluid flow in medicine that is being held in Edinburgh from 17-19 September 2003. There are many individuals and groups working in this area worldwide, with the UK having a significant research presence in the field, and the meeting will act as a focus to bring together people who work on different aspects of the problems.The meeting is being held under the auspices of the International Centre for Mathematical Sciences (ICMS) in Edinburgh, and will incorporate the twelfth Scottish Computational Mathematics Symposium (SCMS).
