Summary on Grant Application Form
This propsal seeks selective funding for aspects of collaborative work which fit in to our COST network (D11/0013 dendritic hybrids and their photo/electrochemistry - Cammidge is co-ordinator). We aim to exploit our expertise within the UEA group to prepare triphenylene, porphyrin and phthalocyanine derivatives which can be incorporated into supramolecular structures. Elaborate hybrid dendrimers will be prepared through collaboratic (exchange or researchers). By exploiting th eindividual groups' expertise and experience the execution of this collaborative project represents an enormous economy of effort. Furthermore, expertise will be effectively ttransferred between the partner laboratories. The UEA synthesis component comprises extension of current projects to prepare specific derivatives for incorporation (along with units fro the other groups) into hybrid structures. Th proposed materials have potential applications in energy conversion (models for charge separation processes) and molecular materials.
