|
It is intended to characterise hydrogel polymeric materials with biomedical applications with an emphasis for extended wear contact lens applications, by using a combination of advanced techniques and synthesising the results of direct significance to advance applications in the clinical field. This preliminary work will be achieved in an interdisciplinary mode under the EPSRC scheme of postdoctoral mobility between disciplines by (1) transferring vital skills of a RA from Materials Science in Cambridge University to Life Sciences at Anglia Polytechnic University; (2) consolidating collaboration between a Life Science and a Materials Science research groups in the development of biomaterials with clinical applications; (3) offer training in new areas of applications and in learning new techniques to a highly skilled RA.
