Summary on Grant Application Form
This research is part of a collaborative effort with leading research groups from Germany and France. Through this collaboration a wide range of techniques will be used to determine diffusion coefficients for various molecules in a wide range of zeolites. The choice of the range of adsorbates will be established at consortium meetings in order to be able to compare the results from the different groups and in particular to address the long-standing issue of discrepancies between microscopic and macroscopic techniques. This part of the joint proposal focuses on the work that will be carried out at UCL using the ZLC/TZLC technique, that will be used to determine limiting zero loading diffusion coefficients (ZLC) and concentration dependent self-diffusion coefficients (TZLC), which should be directly comparable to microscopic techniques.
