Summary on Grant Application Form
The primary objective of this project is to develop a paradigm for a new speaker identification and/or verification system based on coded speech parameters. In the current communication systems speech coding has been widely used which is expected to continue in the future. Although speaker verification/ identification systems have been developed to work reasonably well at the transmitting terminal end (or other interfaces which do not require speech coding) there has not been much work to form the same function at the receiver end since speech is low bit rate coded in the form of parameters (and may have lost some speaker identity). In this project, we will use the coded speech parameters where the speaker information is contained for its identification.
