Summary - Describe the proposed project in about 200 words, in plain EnglishFunds are requested to enable the applicant to develop and build demonstration experiments in order that three demonstration lectures may be staged. Each lecture will be designed to introduce an adult audience to aspects of current research. Lights! Camera! Action! looks at the use of light to analyse and monitor substances. Gone with the wind focuses on the structure of the atmosphere and aspects of the chemistry which goes on there. The third, Sense and sensibility , concentrates on sensors and will develop from the familiar (eg. thermostats) to those currently under development in research laboratories.
