Summary on Grant Application Form
Our aim is to research practical, capacity approaching, error correction coding schemes particularly targeted towards application in digital video broadcasting (DVB).We wish to advance the state of knowledge with regard to block LDPC codes by investigating regular construction techniques which should yield improved encoders and a better understanding of decoding techniques. We intend to investigate low complexity techniques to help deal with the computational load involved in decoding the very long codes which can be constructed.
