Summary on Grant Application Form
The aim of this proposal is to develop Telescoped Organic Processes using Potentially Self-destructive Reagents (TOPUPS).TOPUPS procedures enable two, three or more conventional reactions to be carried out in a single process leading to a reduction in the number of operations (e.g. isolation and purification) and thus to a major cost benefit. In addition, such a sequence may enable difficult intermediates to be accessed, and elaborated in situ, without the need for isolation. The initial aim of this proposal is to develop and apply one-pot, TOPUPS methods leading directly from alcohols to imines, amines and heterocycles.
