Summary on Grant Application Form
GARField magnetic resonance has been shown to be a powerful tool for depth profiling through polymer based coatings systems. Within this programme we seek (i) to build orthogonal pulsed gradients on a GARField system with a view to expanding capability to two-dimensional informationn, (ii) to establish the viability of using the pulsed gradients for q-space microscopy studies of the microstructure of emulsion layers and (iii) to build parallel plate and cone and plate shear cells for GARField so as to establish a capability to study droplet dispersion within sheared emulsions.
