This project will research and develop a complete end-to-end solution to automatic provision of important non-repudiation and fair data exchange services for private electronic procurement (e-procurement), supported by authentication and authorisation services to ensure that only authorised individuals within an enterprise can get access to valuable data and conduct data exchange in a secure and fair manner. The development of the nonrepudiation and fair data exchange services will give dual considerations to privacy requirements (e.g. traceable anonymity) and applicability to mobile devices, which have not been addressed appropriately by existing approaches and e-procurement systems. The services proposed will be built into PrismTech's next generation product, the Integration Server, which provides enterprise services for the integration of CORBA and Java applications. As a result, the Integration Server will be able to offer a configurable, interoperable and scalable security framework for automatic provision of nonrepudiation, fair data exchange, authentication and authorisation services to allow comprehensive e-procurement as well as other e-commerce applications to be deployed over the Internet. The project will benefit the UK Information and Communication Technology sector that develops and sells related products, and the UK industry at large which will use these products to better achieve their business goals.
