Summary on Grant Application Form |
Researchers from different disciplines agree that visually displayed targets, plans and measures are important, but to date this area has been under researched. In industry, project data tends to be held in separate databases and used in separate reports, which are often text based with the occasional graphical output. These reports fail to unite and display project and performance information in a useful way to encourage integrative thinking within the teams or to allow project progress to be clearly evaluated by senior management. With the collaborator, Centrica plc, this exploratory project will employ a number of research methods including semi-structured interviews, document and report analysis, literature survey and structured workshops to establish how best to visually present and communicate complex and diverse project data to improve information sharing, communication and decision making within complex business change and IT projects.
