Summary on Grant Application Form
The IBC will provide at least 2500 hours of beamtime per annum for EPSRC supported grants in support of many of the following areas of research: silicon based laser for integrated optics applications, electrical isolaation in indium based III-V compound semiconductors, implantation applications to III-V nitrides, MV implantation for SMARTCUT technologies,contribution of ion implantation to nanotechnology, plasma immersion for large area solar cell production, alternative ion species to boron for silicon doping, on-line use of the positron dosimeter, characterisation of drug release polymer systems, development of ion beam analytical methods for pan-european cement standards, trace element deficiencies and transport mechanisms in single cells or cellular tissue, cell pharmacology and the uptake of pharmaceuticals in certain sites, sustainability aspects of ion beam processing.
