Summary on Grant Application Form
This proposal presents the case for funds for an up-to-date, high specification thermobatance to be purchased and housed under the auspices of SERG at the University of Northumbria(UNN) and in cooperation with several other organisations, including the Universities of York, Newcastle and Hull and the chosen supplier. Research into high temperature corrosion processes and ways to provide protection has become increasingly important over recent years as greater efficiency and safety are sought in technologically and industrially important applications such as energy conversion systems, including power generation, fuel gasification, and chemical process plant. This is a major and internationally regarded field of research at UNN. A key technique is thermal
