Summary on Grant Application Form
Funding is sought for Professor Mike Taylor from the University of South Australia and Professor Alan Nicholson from the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand to visit the Transport Operations Research Group (TORG) at the University of Newcastle as Visiting Fellows. Both are actively engaged in research on transport network reliability and would contribute to on-going research on the subject by the Applicant. Mike Taylor will contribute to work on two EPSRC projects, one on network reliability and the other on road space reallocation. The emphasis will be on the application of network reliability concepts to the road space reallocation problem. Alan Nicholson will contribute to the EPSRC network reliability project. The emphasis will be on the application of equilibrium techniques to degradable multi-modal networks. Collaborative research opportunities will be established.
