Summary on Grant Application Form
Microwave passive devices for the mobile communications industry are one of the most promising areas of application of HTS. There is a need from that industry for low cost, reproducible HTS material on technical substrates that can tolerate relatively high throughput of microwave power. This proposal aims to exploit internationally leading Materials Science developments at ICST&M fabricating ReBCO high current density, low cost, HTS materials by liquid phase epitaxy A combination of microwave, Raman, scanning Hall probe and AFM facilities already significantly developed for this purpose will be employed to study the potential of these 2 d generation HTS materials and promote the development of material for microwave applications.
